Your options include fiberglass or wire screening. Most new windows come with fiberglass screens.  These are made of vinyl coated fiberglass yarns which provide a strong and long lasting screen that is not easily damaged. 

Wire screening is made from aluminum wire and offers the same essential benefits as fiberglass.
